![]() ![]() Malta (for Italia owners ferry to Pozzallo)ĮDIT: A good point came up later in the thread, saying that SCS would probably want it to be connected to the base game.Ferry between Bonifacio and Santa Teresa Gallura.Corsica & Sardinia (for VLF or Italia owners).Once one of my hired drivers gets to level 3 or 4 in long distance skill I transfer them to a garage at the edge of the map where they do seem to improve their earnings. The Islands DLC would include (cities in bold, port towns in italic, port villages without formatting): Liverpool and Bratislava consistently offer the highest paying long distance jobs for example. It should be obvious that really long distance jobs (that pay the highest) can only be offered from cities near the edges of the map. Of course, traffic is going to make a big difference so make sure you check that before leaving. However, it should be noted that cities near the edges of the map would be best for higher level higher skilled drivers who have a long distance skill of 4 or 5. How far is Reykjavik from Selfoss Heres the quick answer if you make this quick drive without any stops. My best performing garage for low and mid level drivers is Berlin. I can say that in my game my best performing garages are both (moderately) centrally located and are located in cities with 4 or 5 job sites. I am not absolutely convinced that these principles actually apply, it is more than likely that jobs picked for hired drivers are completely random and does not consider any of these factors. Picking a garage with a central location means there will be more possible destinations so there will be more opportunity for high paying jobs. ![]() The hired driver's home garage location may have an effect on the jobs offered both originating in the home city and return jobs. Take advantage of a cab ride for 180 USD.The bus offers routes to the most remote places as well as available services. If you would like to get there on your own, fuel will cost you 11 USD. An estimated trip duration is 46 minutes. Remember that a hired driver MUST return to their home garage, a home city with more job sites is more likely to be a destination from wherever the driver's job took them to. The distance from Selfoss to Reykjavk is around 34 miles. For example if the home city has 4 or 5 job sites it may be more likely that there are more high paying jobs offered at the home garage. The hired driver's home garage may make a difference in the quality (read: higher paying) of jobs they can get in their home city. I'm saying that it certainly looks like an error and 50% seems to me to be a little high. It can be argued that the 50% setting is not an error but just looking at the configuration file one can see that there is a 10% setting line which is overridden by that 50% setting line. Don't use 0% as that causes drivers to sit and do nothing when return jobs are really not available which apparently can happen. ![]() Several Mods fix that error and one Mod sets it to 0%. I believe the intended probability is 10% that a return job is not found. That error sets the probability at 0.5, that's right, it's 50% probable that a return job is found. However, there is an error in the configuration files that sets the probability that a driver does not find a return job. A hired driver must return to his "home" garage, he cannot take a job to another city. Jobs for hired drivers are picked at random controlled only by a probability setting and consider only that driver's skills along with the requirement that the job must have as a destination the hired driver's assigned garage. but for the driver to find trips back to their 'home' which they always return, seems to be 50/50.You are absolutely correct!īut. If they do not find one there, they simply return empty. This is all based on my assumption that they only try and locate a job within the current town they are in. Hired Drivers: Long Distance 2, rest of skills 1 to unlock, rest ADR to maximize chance of finding job on return trip?Īnyone with drivers with high enough skills, do you still have trouble with them returning empty? If a driver was trained with a couple points in 'Long Distance', at least 1 point in the other categories to unlock them, and concentrate on maxing out 'ADR', that should technically open up the most jobs for the return trip? 'Long Distance' technically only effects the 'outgoing' trips, so should have no effect on finding a job for the return trip, which is why I would suggest 'ADR' to be maxed after other job opportunites are unlocked. My few drivers I have are not high enough level so I can't confirm anything, but this is my idea. but for the driver to find trips back to their 'home' which they always return, seems to be 50/50. There is never a problem to find outgoing trips. And of course training at least 1 in the other skills early on, except for 'Eco Driving' can wait. Obviously the 'Long Distance' skill is important near the start to open up more jobs. I haven't found any clear info on this, so best I can do is common sense. This is something of a grey area to me when I read guides, on the best approach to training them.
